Dave Cartier Jr. Hornet Director
Dave began wrestling in the 5th grade in Pinetop, Arizona. He attended Blue Ridge High School placing 3rd in state his sophomore and junior years and was the 145lbs state champion his senior year. Dave wrestled for NJCAA nationally ranked, Phoenix College his freshman and sophomore years where he was the 1984 Soutwest Zone Champion at 158lbs.

Dave began to coach wrestling assisting at Patterson Elementary School in Mesa, AZ in the mid 80s. He has coached various sports for his three kids, Sienna, David and Christian. David and Christian are Junior Hornet Wrestlers this year. This will be Dave's 4th year coaching with the Roswell Jr. Hornets and is excited for the 2012-2013 season.

Randy Faires Head Coach - Middle School
Coach Randy was inducted into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame - May 1, 2011 - we are so pleased to have had him at Roswell over these past many years.

Coach Randy wrestled in both High School and College. He had a tremendous High School career and in 1966 he tied with Dan Gable and 2 others with a 100% win record. Coach Randy's college record was just as outstanding, 44-1. Between High School and College his overall record was a cumulative and rare 100-1. He was undefeated for seven years between ninth grades until his last match in college.

Some of Coach Randy’s wrestling honors/achievements include:
Georgia Tech Invitational Champion 1969 at 130lbs;
3 Time SEIWA Champion 1969 at 123lbs, 1970 at 134lbs, 1971 at 134 lbs.;
Outstanding Wrestler Award, Chattanooga Chamber of Commerce 1971; Sports Illustrated Merit Award 1971, for 100 Varsity Wins in Row High School and College;
Best Win: a 14-3 decision over Herb Singerman the Canadian National Champion and Olympian also he was Athlete of the year in Montreal;
Was inducted to the University Tennessee, Chattanooga Sports Hall of Fame in 1992;
Recognized at one of the Chattanooga Area’s All-Time Wrestling All-Stars 1st Team 105lbs in 1999;
Inducted into the Greater Chattanooga Area Sports Hall of Fame in 2002.

As a volunteer Jr. Hornet Middle School Head Coach since 2005, Randy has used his expertise and dedication to the sport of wrestling in his coaching ability to build up Roswell Wrestling!

Mike Spinning Little Kids - Head Coach
Michael Spinning grew up in Canton, Ohio where he experienced success at the youth, middle school, and high school levels. His accomplishments include a high school varsity record of 76-18, a fifth place finish in the Ohio state tournament, and a member of the Ohio Junior National freestyle team. Additionally, Michael spent time with Div 1 Ohio University's wrestling program where he went on to graduate cum laude with a bachelors in Communication Systems Management. Coach Spinning was an assistant with the Junior Hornets in 2011-12 and has additional coaching experience with the Centennial Jr Knights and high school programs from 2001-2004.

Michael and his wife have lived in Roswell since 2000 and have a son Charles who is a Junior Hornet and daughter Lillian.

Jason Stucky Big Kids - Assistant Coach
Coach Jason has volunteered as an assistant coach for the Roswell JR Hornet Middle School for over a handful of years. He's worked very closely with Coach Faires for a number of years and together the two coaches have been able to groom a number of state placers and champions. Coach Jason has no children in the program, but volunteers his time without question to the program - giving up his week nights and weekends to our middle school wrestlers. Coach Jason is also a Chiropractor in Roswell and has been able to provide invaluable assistance to both our coaching staff as well as our wrestlers.
Robert Fezza Big Kids - Assistant Coach
Coach Fezza joined the Roswell JR Hornet Coaching staff in the fall of 2009.

Coach Fezza has wrestled and coached all three styles of wrestling - folksyle, feestyle and greco-roman.

Coach Fezza was an All County wrestler in High School at Valley Stream North HS in New York. He was also a Junior High School Coach in New York.

At Hofstra University - Coach Fezza wrestled all three styles of wrestling.

Coach currently has a son in the JR Hornet program, Matthew.

Steve Donaldson Big Kids - Assistant Coach

Eric Gebhardt Middle School - Assistant Coach
Eric started his wrestling career in middle school in New Jersey in 1980. He then wrestled varsity all four years at Jefferson Township High School and accumulated a record of approximately 90 wins and 30 losses. He then earned a scholarship to wrestle at the division I level at Georgia Tech and wrestled varsity his freshman through junior years until the program was dropped in his senior year. His overall college record was approximately 60 wins and 20 losses.

As a coach, Eric has been an assistant coach at Douglass High School for two years while living in Nevada and started coaching in the Roswell JR Hornet program during the 2010-2011 Season.

Eric also has two sons in the JR Hornet Wrestling Program, Jacob (Middle School Program) and Parker (Elementary Program).



Bob Copenhaver Assistant Middle School Coach
Bob has been with our Junior program for a number of years - at one time he had three children in the program, Robert, John and Caroline (who opted for Gymnastics). Bob has put in tireless hours with both the elementary and middle school programs and wrestled in Colorado during his earlier days.
Brian Glaze Little Kids - Assistant Coach
Brian began wrestling in the mid 70's in Caldwell, Idaho and wrestled 2 years varsity for Caldwell High School and was the team captain his senior year. He graduated from Boise State University in 1982. Brian has coached several sports for his kids and this will be his 2nd year coaching with the Roswell Jr. Hornets and he is looking forward to the 2012-2013 season. Brian's son Carson is a Junior Hornet Wrestler.
