Roswell Volunteers Needed for Southeast Regionals- Memorial Day Weekend!

Parents - the Southeast Regional Wrestling Championship is to be held at the Georgia World Conference Center - May 26th and 27th (Memorial Day Weekend).

This is the largest Tournament in the South during the Summer and is being Hosted by Team Georgia Wrestling. This is a USA Wrestling sanctioned event and wrestlers from all over the country will be in attendance.

There will be a folkstyle tournament Saturday AM for Elementary and Middle School and Girls - then the tournament rolls into Greco on Saturday Afternoon and Freestyle on Sunday for Schoolboys, Cadets and Juniors (middle school & high school).

If you are in town memorial day weekend and want something different to do - volunteer to help work the tournament.

IF you have a Junior Wrestler who wants to wrestle Folkstyle - please let Jeff know and we can help you find practices for your child to prepare.

This is a great opportunity to support Team Georgia Wrestling - we host one of the Largest Wrestling tournaments during the fall season with Team Georgia and have phenomial volunteers and this is a great opportunity to continue If you can work the tournament other than the shifts on the flyer, please contact Karen Miller @ jefffkarmil@yahoo.com and we can work something out.

Help is needed on Friday for set up and admissions, Saturday & Sunday (admissions, hospitality, table workers, security, data entry (at the table)), as well as tear down on Sunday.

What a Way to End a Season!!

To all of our amazing wrestlers, wonderful parents and families and fantastic coaches, THANK YOU!!! What an amazing season we've had - it's because and for you!!

Each and every wrestler who participated in the program this year deserves tremendous credit and should be proud!! Wrestling is one of the most (if not the the hardest) physically and emotionally demanding sports around. We've seen a number of firsts this season - first correctly executed moves, first single legs, first double legs, first pins, first points...you are all champions in our book - you all worked hard and never gave up and kept coming back!! Be proud of your accomplishments this season - in practices and/or in matches, we are!! Nothing worth anything comes without hard work and you all worked hard - wrestling is not easy!

To our parents, you never cease to amaze us with your support - you shuttle your wrestler back n forth to practices - stick it out all day on hard bleachers and when the call for volunteers comes out, you answered the call without question. You are incredible!!

To our volunteer coaching staff - you give up your time on weeknights and for the weekends from November through March, just because it's wrestling season and you love the sport and want to pass on that passion - the amazing talent that the Roswell JR Wrestling Coaching staff has is mind-boggling. We have close to 20 coaches ...they all work well together exchanging ideas and thoughts...

A special thank you to our volunteered Roswell JR Hornet Wrestling Photographer, Rob Rose - who took photos at most all of the open tournaments and duals and captured amazing shots of both the Middle School and Elementary wrestlers throughout the season. Thank you Rob!! We are working on pulling together a photo CD as well as a season recap slide show - Rob's gallery (unedited photos) can also be viewed on Web Shots.

Thank you does not say enough - but, thank you all! It's for the kids - they are great kids and it's because of you and your support of Roswell JR Hornet Wrestling that the program continues...

We would also like to give recognition to our 2012 State Placers:

Cameron Whiteman, Middle School - U14, 260lbs. - 4th Place - Big Kids State

John Cophenhaver, Elementary School - U10, 110lbs. - State Champion - Little Kids State

Christian Cartier, Elementary School - U8, 64lbs. - 4th Place - Little Kids State

Go Roswell JR Hornet Wrestling!!! Thank you to our Roswell JR Hornet Wrestling Family!! You are the best!!
