Congratulations Roswell JR Hornets!! WOW!!

Way to go Roswell JR Hornets!  What a great season and what a great bunch of wrestlers we have!  You all have worked hard in both practices and matches! We are proud of each and every one of you - keep working and learning!

Wrestling is a difficult sport - you practice for hours for just a few minutes on the mat in competition and in competition, it's just you, your opponent and the mat for just minutes of emotionally charged and physically challenging "work."

You've all have risen to the challenge of the work effort and while outcomes of matches may not have met your expectations, remember how many new moves you've learned, your first take down, your first reversal, your first nearfall, your first pin, your first win, your first tourney placement ...we've been there excited for you on all those firsts. It takes practice, determination and dedication - you've all shown that, we couldn't be more proud of our wrestlers! You all have done wonders this year! Be proud, we are!!

Also, be proud to be part of a team who sent 29 wrestlers to qualifiers this weekend! That's amazing! You are amazing kids and you will go far, stick with it! We are sticking with you!!! It takes a room full of dedicated kids with tenacity to practice day after day to build a team, take pride in being part of the team! WOW, what a great job and a great season you've all had!

Also, to each and everyone our wrestlers who were able to participate in Qualifiers today - you ALL showed great effort, courage and gave it your all - be proud of your accomplishments, WE are proud of ALL of you! There was some tough competition out there today. Out of our 29 wrestlers, 22 of your teammates have earned a slot in state - that is the most in the history of the JR Hornet program that we've ever been able to send to the respective state tournaments!

Volunteers will be needed for the Little Kids State Tournament - 3/12

All, the Roswell program will be hosting the Little School State Duals at Milton on Saturday, March 12, 2011.

We need volunteers to work tables, work admissions, security, concessions, the hospitality room, data entry -- etc.  We are going to use the Roswell Folkstyle classic volunteer list as the basis for our volunteer slots. We realize that many folks are on to other sports in March, but we need to have all of our Parents (High School Middle School and Elementary School) parents involved in volunteering. If we don't have you, we don't have a tournament.  This is a fund raiser that helps us replace "selling stuff."

If you know of a youth group or are involved in a youth group who need to do community service or who would be willing to volunteer, please let Karen Miller know @ jeffkarmil@yahoo.com . We need boppers aged 10+, runners 8th grade + and assistance with additonal operations.

We mostly need parents to do brackets, table coordination, timing, scoring, security, concessions, admissions among other duties.

Karen Miller will be coordinating volunteer slots for the tournament - the Middle School State Duals was a Milton tournament, the Little School State is a Roswell Tournament. We will be also reaching out to Milton for volunteers, but need our program to step up for key positions.

If you've ever worked a tournament before (or have been to a tournament before) - the goal of Roswell tournaments is to have every position filled and every function to work like clockwork in order to have no issues. Nobody likes downtime and nobody likes having to go to a tournament that runs smoothly. We need your help - so please start planning your schedules to be available on March 12th and March 13th to work the Little Kids state tournament. This is a big deal for Roswell and helps to keep our registration fees low for your wrestlers!

You will be seeing more in email this next few weeks regarding the tournament and proposed training classes.

If you have any questions regarding volunteer positions, please direct them to Karen Miller at jeffkarmil@yahoo.com.

Thanks,
Karen Miller

Congratulations to our Middle School Team for Placing 5th in the USA Division!

Congratulations to our Middle School Dual Team for placing 4th in the USA Division at Middle School Duals!

This is a great accomplishment for our wrestlers - we gave up 2 slots (automatic 12 point loss) and ended up wrestling-back to accomplish placement in the USA division.  In the USA division there were 14 Teams, we ended up 5th! Over all at the State duals there were 30 teams.  So we held our own and did remarkable well, as we knew our wrestlers would!  Can you all imagine what we'd do if we had all of our slots filled!

We wrestled well and all of our wrestlers put on their "A" game - we are so proud of you all. We are proud of all of our parents too!!

Great Job Roswell JR Hornet Wrestling!

Good Luck to Our Roswell Middle School Team @ Middle School State Duals

Best of luck to our middle school team at the GA State Middle School Duals - there will be a lot of fierce wrestling and many tough teams - we know you will show your "A" game and you will have your teammates and wrestling partners right there beside you, cheering you on!

You guys had a great showing at Pope Duals even when we were down four slots  - make each point count!

You all are fine wrestlers, keep the momentum going  - keep the teamwork going and do wonders!

Good Luck Roswell Wrestling Middle School Dual Team at State Duals!!

Go Roswell!
